Big Mouth is an animated Netflix series for adults, and it offers fans several characters to fall in love with. Of these, the Hormone Monsters on the show are an amazingly unique and fascinating construct. Monster Gavin
Gavin didn't see him assigned to any of the children in Big Mouth, but he took on a much bigger role in Human Resources. He seemed content most of the time to boss the other Hormone Monsters around, and he likewise seems quite talented at getting in their way. This might be why Maury hates him so much.

However, in Human Resources, he actually got a chance to be more than a bully. He went after Nick and almost got him as a client before he decided that Gavin was a little too pushy. Natalie also had Gavin as a Hormone Monster when she was Gabe. She ended up taking hormone blockers to make him go away. It was clear that he was one of the least-liked Hormone Monsters, even for the kids.
Monster Tyler
Tyler is perhaps the most eager of the Hormone Monsters, and that's probably because he's got the most to prove. In many ways, he's got the most in common with the clients the Hormone Monsters deal with. And that's because he doesn't seem to have finished going through puberty himself. Because of his lack of personal experience, Tyler wasn't the best Hormone Monster out there.
However, he was willing to help but didn't give the best advice out there. However, he eventually came into his own when Ricky retired and Tyler took his place as a Hormone Monster-in-Training. He finally got Barry as a client in Human Resources.
Monster Bonnie
Monster Bonnie is Connie's twin sister. Unlike her sister, she doesn't use the term Monstress and instead prefers Monster for her title. She showed up in the season 5 episode "Sugarbush" and was there to help Leah, who was moving into her first time with Val.

While not as overbearing as her sister Connie, Bonnie was a lot smarter and instructive with Leah, helping her move into the first time with confidence and care. However, she was also there for some more risqué moments, including when she got really close to Maury and ended up with both Maury and Connie before Nick ruined everything. As a Hormone Monster, she was very experienced and wise, and better than some of the flakier options.
Monster Rick
Rick is basically the polar opposite of Tyler. He's got plenty of experience. So much, in fact, that he's begun to forget a lot of it. He really should have retired years ago, between his difficulty being understood, his incontinence, and his poor vision. And that's just to name a few of his issues. Rick had Coach Steve as a client, and that should tell anyone what they need to know about his obvious bad advice.
He also started with Nick before finally leaving him to get a better Hormone Monster assigned to him. One of the running jokes with Rick is just how hard it is to understand him. In fact, the series has made a point of giving his character subtitles. Sometimes his commentary or advice is a little bit out there, so even being able to read what he says doesn't go very far in making what he actually said understandable.
Monstress Mona
Mona showed up as a new Monstress in season 3. Mona showed up and introduced herself to Missy while she was in the shower, and she has been instrumental in Missy discovering herself and coming out of her shell, much to the shock of her parents. The only other person Mona has worked with during the series is Nadja during her sexual encounter with her girlfriend.

What makes Mona different from someone like Connie is that Mona prefers to lead through chaos. She seems to feel that she gets her best results when she has Missy do something that just throws everything into disarray. It often works for Missy, but makes everyone else's lives very difficult.
Monstress Connie
Connie is a fan favorite and with good reason. Honestly, Connie has been a force of nature within the series, but she's also a loyal and faithful Hormone Monstress. She was the first Hormone Monstress to appear on the show, and she was a bundle of emotions and personality. She's charismatic, quirky, and fierce. She isn't afraid to state her opinion, and she can go toe to toe with characters like Maurice.
Connie knows how to teach girls – and boys – about their bodies and how to enjoy them. She's big on body positivity, and she's all about knowing as much about the body and how it works as possible – especially with the fun stuff. There are some things that Connie struggles with, including depression issues. She almost lost Jessi to a depression monster. However, she overcame this and is now taking care of Nick, and did a pretty solid job of it until leaving him in "A Very Special 9/11 Episode.".
Monster Maurice
Maurice was the first Hormone Monster the series introduced, and he's naturally a fan favorite. He's crass and insane, but fans love him anyway. Maurice has been assigned to Andrew, but as the series progressed he's been assigned to other characters as well (including Matthew). Maurice is one of those characters that knows no shame. He knows what he likes, and he isn't afraid to say so.
He's extremely outspoken about his sexuality, his body, and so much more. And while he can get gross and crass from time to time, fans love him anyway. Perhaps that is because he's always got his client's back or the fact that he's emotionally open. He's not afraid to vent or cry as the situation calls for it, and he'll happily back up any of the students in trouble. Or just sit there and be emotional with them. In fact, he'll do whatever he needs to in order to match them, keeping up with what is happening in their lives to an absurd amount of attention and detail.
